The U.S. Virgin Islands offer a diverse range of activities for tourists, including water sports, hiking, historical exploration, and cultural immersion. Whether you're seeking relaxation on pristine beaches or adventure in the outdoors, the USVI provides a unique and captivating Caribbean experience. I began my adventure in Charlotte Amalie after a short flight from North Carolina, the city is easy to navigate and has an abundance of duty free shopping opportunities. It is also a cruise port, it is fun to watch the ships come and go as smaller sailboats, yachts and catamarans glide through the channels en route to other destinations. I rented a car to experience the St Thomas beaches and mountains from every vantage point, the views did not disappoint! Please visit my photo album to see some of my favorites. I also spent several days exploring St John and Buck Island Wildlife Refuge, snorkeling and boating to experience local reefs and the world-renowned beaches that will keep me coming back for years to come. Virgin Islands promised a sun-soaked retreat into a haven of turquoise waters, pristine beaches, and lush landscapes. As our plane descended into the Cyril E. King Airport in St. Thomas, the anticipation of exploring this Caribbean jewel filled the air.Our first stop was Magens Bay Beach, a crescent-shaped stretch of powdery sand surrounded by verdant hills. The tranquil waters, framed by swaying palm trees, invited us to unwind and embrace the laid-back atmosphere that defines the Virgin Islands. Snorkeling in the crystal-clear bay revealed vibrant coral gardens and schools of tropical fish, creating an underwater spectacle.Venturing to St. John, we explored the Virgin Islands National Park, a sprawling ecological preserve covering two-thirds of the island. Traversing pristine hiking trails, we discovered hidden beaches, ancient petroglyphs, and sweeping vistas that showcased the unspoiled beauty of the Virgin Islands. Trunk Bay, with its famous underwater snorkeling trail, became a highlight, allowing us to witness the vibrant marine life beneath the surface. Our island-hopping adventure continued to the less-visited but equally enchanting St. Croix. The historic town of Christiansted, with its pastel-colored buildings and charming cobblestone streets, provided a glimpse into the Virgin Islands' colonial past. Exploring the historic sites, such as Fort Christiansvaern, transported us back in time.A sailing excursion through the Sir Francis Drake Channel offered a breathtaking perspective of the Virgin Islands' archipelago. The sea breeze carried us to hidden coves, where we anchored for snorkeling, sunbathing, and reveling in the serene beauty of the uninhabited islands.Indulging in the local cuisine became a culinary adventure, with fresh seafood, Caribbean spices, and tropical fruits gracing our plates. Dining at open-air restaurants overlooking the harbor or enjoying beachside barbecues added a delightful touch to our gastronomic journey.Exploring the Baths on Virgin Gorda, in the British Virgin Islands, revealed a geological wonder of giant granite boulders forming stunning grottos and tidal pools. The unique rock formations and the clear waters made it a surreal and picturesque destination for swimming and snorkeling. As the sun dipped below the horizon, we found ourselves on the shores of Cane Garden Bay in Tortola, the largest of the British Virgin Islands. The rhythmic beats of live music wafted through the air as we joined locals and fellow travelers in a beachfront celebration, savoring the vibrant nightlife of the islands.Leaving the Virgin Islands was a bittersweet farewell to a tropical paradise that had woven a tapestry of relaxation, exploration, and natural wonders. The memories of azure waters, pristine beaches, and the warm hospitality of the Virgin Islands lingered, creating an indelible mark on our hearts as we departed from this Caribbean sanctuary.    Living on island time was a dream come true, I can help you get there too!

Australia is a blend of natural wonders, unique wildlife, vibrant cities, rich culture, and endless opportunities for adventure, making it a dream destination for many. It offers something for every type of traveler, whether you’re seeking relaxation, exploration, or a cultural journey.

During my time in Australia, I was fortunate to experience some of the most fascinating creatures on Earth, many of which can't be found anywhere else. Imagine seeing kangaroos hop across open plains, cuddling a koala, or seeing penguins in the wild. For animal enthusiasts, visiting Australia is like stepping into a live wildlife documentary.

I explored most of Victoria from the mountains to the coast and visited many of the small towns outside Melbourne. Each had its own vibe but all were friendly and welcoming. Culinary and drinking opportunities allow you to try local fare while gaining insights into area culture.

I was astonished by Melbourne's city center, it is a beautiful blend of historic architecture and modern engineering creating a vibrant and dynamic scene. It is easy to navigate on foot or via public transit.

Nestled along the border of Tennessee and North Carolina, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park stands as a testament to the raw, untamed beauty of nature. My recent journey into the heart of these mist-shrouded peaks was nothing short of a soul-reviving escape, as the Smokies unfolded their secrets of lush landscapes, diverse wildlife, and timeless tranquility. The adventure began with a scenic drive along winding roads that meandered through dense forests and offered glimpses of the rolling mist that gives the Smoky Mountains their name. As the elevation increased, the air became crisp, and the scent of pine permeated the surroundings. Arriving at the park, I was greeted by the iconic Blue Ridge Mountains, their peaks seemingly reaching for the heavens.Hiking trails crisscross the Smoky Mountains, each offering a unique perspective on the park's natural wonders. One of the highlights was the Alum Cave Trail, a moderate trek that led me through a lush forest, across wooden bridges, and past scenic overlooks. As I ascended, the trees gave way to exposed rocks, and the reward at Alum Cave itself was a breathtaking view of the mist-covered valleys below.Clingmans Dome, the highest peak in the Smokies, provided a panoramic vista that took my breath away. The observation tower at the summit allowed me to soak in the 360-degree views of the rolling hills and valleys, with a sea of mountains extending as far as the eye could see. It was a moment of profound stillness, broken only by the rustle of leaves and the occasional call of a distant bird. The diverse ecosystems within the park are a haven for wildlife enthusiasts. From black bears and white-tailed deer to a symphony of bird songs, the Smoky Mountains are a sanctuary for a rich array of flora and fauna. Cades Cove, a verdant valley surrounded by mountains, provided a serene setting for wildlife watching. The slow drive along the loop road revealed grazing deer, wild turkeys, and the occasional glimpse of a bear ambling through the fields. In the evenings, as the sun dipped below the horizon, the smoky haze enveloped the landscape in an ethereal glow. The colors of the setting sun painted the sky with hues of orange and pink, casting a warm embrace over the mountainous terrain. The serenity of the Smoky Mountains revealed itself in the silence interrupted only by the sounds of nature, creating a meditative atmosphere that was both soothing and invigorating. The trip to the Smoky Mountains was more than a physical journey; it was a spiritual retreat into the heart of nature. As I reluctantly bid farewell to this haven of tranquility, the memories of misty peaks, vibrant forests, and timeless landscapes lingered. The Smoky Mountains had offered not just a getaway but a profound connection to the raw, untouched beauty of the natural world, leaving an indelible mark on my soul.

My exploration began in the historic downtown area, where the eclectic mix of architecture and a bohemian atmosphere set the stage for a truly distinctive experience. The streets lined with art galleries, boutiques, and craft breweries showcased Asheville's creative spirit. Wandering through the River Arts District, I discovered a labyrinth of studios and galleries, where local artists brought their creations to life. The vibrant murals and sculptures added a kaleidoscope of colors to the urban landscape.Asheville is renowned for its connection to the natural world, and the Blue Ridge Parkway serves as a gateway to the breathtaking beauty that surrounds the city. Driving along the scenic route, I marveled at the rolling mountains, lush forests, and cascading waterfalls. A visit to the nearby Biltmore Estate, with its grand architecture and expansive gardens, provided a glimpse into the opulence of the Gilded Age.For a taste of adventure, I ventured into the Pisgah National Forest, where hiking trails beckoned to be explored. The crisp mountain air, the rustling of leaves underfoot, and the distant call of birds created a symphony of nature that transported me away from the hustle of daily life. The reward at the end of the trails often included panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, a reminder of the unspoiled beauty that defines the region. In the evenings, the city came alive with a culinary scene that celebrated local flavors and creativity. Asheville's food scene is a melting pot of farm-to-table restaurants, food trucks, and artisanal eateries. We re recently worked with Lori to plan a first time trip to the Outer Banks of NC in early fall.. She has a vast amount of knowledge, having vacationed there many times over the years with her family. She was very helpful to figure out which airport to fly into, where to stay, and what activities to do. I highly recommend her!!

Fall is my favorite time of year, and I wanted to see as much of the Colorado color as I could! Ms. Harris planned an unbelievable tour for me! I loved the clear, detailed itinerary I received before my trip to allow my mind to relax and not worry about the details. Ms. Harris had everything in order for my safe and happy travels. She arranged two separate 5 Star Resorts for me. First in Beaver Creek/Vail, then two nights in Mountain Village/Telluride. The Mountain Village property in particular, The Madeline, was really like nothing I had ever stayed in before. The views were spectacular, and the design of the resort was breathtaking! In the evenings there were fire bowls to light the path walking through the village, and live, smooth music filled the courtyard. There was a wide variety of food and beverage choices, including gourmet selections from their 5 Star Michelin Chef! Ms. Harris surpassed my expectations and hopes for this trip! What a whirlwind of fall beauty! Thank you!

Recently, Lori was instrumental in providing numerous forms of supportive documentation to not only file, but write an appeal to travel insurance on my behalf after they denied the claim. Due to the Crowdstrike and Microsoft disaster on 7/18/24, I had to cancel my trip to London. Lori not only filed the paperwork to file the claim, but reached out to TSA, the Asheville, NC Regional Airport AND provided a minute-to-minute report on weather conditions at the airport to further support my claim. Her perseverance and professionalism created the conditions for my claim to recently be paid, and in full!!!

LORI HARRIS RESPONDED

"Thank you Laurie, I'm so glad I was able to help! This is why I recommend travel insurance to all my clients, you NEVER know what could happen! I'm here when you are ready for your next adventure. "

I love Asheville!

Lori's love of Asheville is infectious! We wanted to check out Asheville this year after visiting the Smokies the past couple years. We found Lori online and told her we were open to her recommendations. She gave us the insider scoop on hidden gems and popular sights, it was great! Now we love Asheville too! Thank you Lori for treating us like family!

Cool place to stay

I was looking for a cool place to stay for the Brickyard 400 and Lori set us up at the Ironworks. The industrial style appealed to me right away! Rooms were comfy and the amenities were great. I'll definitely stay there again!
