From childhood, I was inspired by my grandparents’ zest for travel, listening to tales of their adventures in Australia, China, and across the U.S. I have lived throughout the United States, Europe, and the Pacific. I’ve explored 38 states and 24 countries, from solo journeys and family vacations to luxury escapes in Ecuador, the Galapagos, and Hawaii. Each experience has given me a deep understanding of how to craft travel plans tailored to your dreams - whether that’s an action-packed adventure or a relaxing retreat. I look forward to helping you create your next unforgettable getaway. Let’s begin this journey together!

Discovering Okinawa: A Journey of Beaches, Wellness, Scuba Diving, and Culinary Delights

Immersive Experiences in Japan’s Southern Paradise

Okinawa, Japan’s southernmost prefecture, is a vibrant tapestry of turquoise coastlines, lush landscapes, and rich cultural heritage. For travelers seeking ultimate relaxation, underwater adventure, and unique gastronomy, Okinawa offers a transformative experience that rejuvenates both body and soul.

Beach Bliss in Okinawa

The islands of Okinawa are renowned for their pristine beaches. Sun seekers and ocean lovers flock to spots like Emerald Beach and Manza Beach, where powdery white sand meets crystal-clear waters. However, there are many lesser-known beaches that are equally as beautiful that you can have nearly all to yourself if you know where to go. After two years living there, I can recommend the best beaches for snorkeling, beachcombing, or relaxing in peaceful surroundings. Whether you’re lounging under the gentle sun, kayaking along the coast, or simply soaking in breathtaking sunsets, Okinawa’s beaches invite you to unwind and embrace the rhythm of island life.

Wellness Retreats and Holistic Healing

Okinawa’s reputation as a “Blue Zone”—one of the world’s regions with notably long-living populations—makes it a natural destination for wellness enthusiasts. Traditional practices such as shiatsu massage, herbal therapies, and local spa rituals are woven into daily life. Visitors can join yoga sessions with ocean vistas, participate in meditative walks through lush forests, or recharge at luxurious wellness resorts offering everything from hot stone therapy to marine-based treatments. Insider Tip: don't forget to try and Onsen while in Japan. If you have tattoos, check before you go if they are tattoo friendly.

Scuba Diving Adventures

Beneath Okinawa’s serene surface lies an aquatic wonderland. The region boasts some of Japan’s best scuba diving, with coral reefs, vibrant marine life, and mysterious underwater caves. Sites like the Kerama Islands and Yonaguni’s submerged ruins are favorites among divers. Whether you’re a seasoned diver or a curious beginner, exploring Okinawa’s depths reveals colorful tropical fish, sea turtles, and intricate coral gardens provide unforgettable adventures for all. Insider tip: if you are a certified diver, there are many safe and easy shore dives located near American Village, check out South steps, Mattress pad, bird cage, and North Steps if you are comfortable with self guided dives.

A Taste of Okinawa: Culinary Exploration

Okinawan cuisine is a harmonious blend of Japanese, Chinese, and Southeast Asian influences, shaped by centuries of trade and tradition. Don’t miss local specialties such as goya champuru (stir-fried bitter melon), rafute (slow-cooked pork belly), and fresh seafood straight from the waters. Visitors can savor these dishes at beachside cafes, bustling markets, and elegant restaurants. Pair your meal with Okinawa’s unique spirits, like awamori, for a true island flavor. No matter where you choose the time, care and pride of their dishes is evident on every plate. Insider tip: don't forget to try local "conbinis" (convenient stores) and mall food courts for delicious and affordable quick eats.

Okinawa is more than just a destination, it’s an invitation to relax, invigorate the senses, and savor life’s simple pleasures. Whether you’re seeking tranquility on sun-kissed beaches, transformative wellness experiences, thrilling underwater adventures, or unforgettable cuisine, Okinawa’s welcoming spirit and natural beauty make every moment extraordinary.

Italy: A Timeless Journey Through Art, History, Romance and Food.

Italy’s allure lies in its extraordinary blend of centuries-old history, breathtaking beauty, and irresistible cuisine. Whether you’re wandering the labyrinthine canals of Venice, marveling at Rome’s ancient wonders, standing in awe and reverence within The Vatican City, exploring Florence’s Renaissance treasures, or walking the storied streets of Pompeii, every day in Italy feels like stepping into a living masterpiece. Here’s how each destination offers a unique window into the heart of Italy:

Venice: The Floating City’s Enchantment

Lose yourself in the poetic beauty of Venice, where shimmering canals replace roads and gondolas glide beneath ornate bridges. Start your day at St. Mark’s Square, home to the magnificent Basilica and the soaring Campanile. Get lost in the narrow alleys of the old Jewish Ghetto and treat yourself to cicchetti (Venetian tapas) along the Grand Canal followed by an essential gondola ride. In the evening, watch the city glow as the sun sets over the water-Venice has a certain magic unlike anywhere else which is perfect for romantics and explorers alike.

Rome: The Eternal City Unveiled

History comes alive at every corner in Rome. Stand in the shadow of the Colosseum and imagine gladiators fighting for glory. Wander the Roman Forum’s ancient ruins, toss a coin into the Trevi Fountain, the architectural wonder of the Pantheon and climb the Spanish Steps for a classic Roman experience. These are just a few of the must-sees. But Rome has so many more treasures that can be found by slowing down and strolling through the streets and relaxing in a neighborhood piazza. Savor gelato as you stroll cobblestone streets, and don’t miss the vibrant energy of Trastevere at night-Rome is a city where ancient history and modern life blend seamlessly.

The Vatican City: Spiritual and Artistic Splendor

Within Rome, the world’s smallest independent state awaits: Vatican City. Marvel at the majestic St. Peter’s Basilica and climb to its dome for a spectacular city view. Explore the Vatican Museums’ rich collections, culminating in Michelangelo’s breathtaking Sistine Chapel ceiling. Whether you’re a pilgrim or an art lover, the Vatican’s spiritual and cultural treasures leave a lasting impression. Pro tip: plan ahead to visit The Vatican City so you won’t be disappointed.

Florence: Renaissance Heartbeat

Florence is the cradle of the Renaissance, a city where creativity shaped the world. Gaze upon Michelangelo’s David at the Accademia, stroll the Ponte Vecchio’s jewelry-lined walkway, and lose yourself in the masterpieces of the Uffizi Gallery. Climb the Duomo for panoramic views and wander through bustling markets filled with leather goods and Tuscan delicacies. Florence’s blend of art, architecture, and culinary delights makes it unforgettable.

Pompeii: A Glimpse Into Antiquity

Step back in time in Pompeii, the ancient Roman city frozen by the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 AD. Walk the remarkably preserved streets, visit frescoed villas, and imagine daily life amid temples and theaters. The haunting ruins offer a powerful reminder of history’s fragility and humanity’s enduring spirit. Want to have little side adventure and see a real volcano up close? Hike to the top of Mt. Vesuvius and walk the rim of the crater. You can still see steam escaping the sleeping giant.

Your Gateway to Japan:

From Neon Streets to Turquoise WatersI have been a travel enthusiast and specialist since 2015, and my passion lies in uncovering the multi-layered beauty of Japan. I fell in love with Japan and its people after living in Okinawa for 2 years (2023-2025) and traveling as much as possible while there. Whether you are seeking the electric energy of a metropolis, the silent prayer of an ancient temple, or a hidden tropical escape, I am here to design a journey that feels personally curated for you.

Japan is a land of profound contrasts, and I specialize in blending these elements together to create a seamless, "bucket-list" experience you won’t forget. Here are the destinations I love to highlight for my clients:

The Heart of the Mainland

Tokyo: The world’s most sophisticated playground. I can guide you from the high-end fashion of Ginza to the quirky backstreets of Shimokitazawa. Finding travelers the perfect balance between the bustling Shibuya Crossing and the serene forested paths of Meiji Jingu and discovering all the all the hidden gems in between is what makes traveling in Japan wonderful, it has something for everyone. While in Tokyo the adventurer may consider hiking Mt. Fuji while visiting if there between the month of July-early September. Disney enthusiasts will love the unique experience of visiting Disney Sea, which can only be visited at Disney Tokyo.

Kyoto: This is where time slows down. Kyoto is the best preserved city and example of historic traditional Japanese structures.  As your Japan/Kyoto expert, I recommend going beyond the "Golden Pavilion" to find the quiet machiya houses and private tea ceremonies that reveal the true soul of Japanese tradition. Start your morning by walking the forested pathways of the 10,000 torri gates and continue on to discover the many beautiful temples and history as you walk through the ancient streets of Kyoto.

Osaka: Known as "Japan’s Kitchen," Osaka is all about vibrant energy and incredible food. I’ll make sure you know exactly where to find the best takoyaki in Dotonbori and how to navigate the lively atmosphere of its neon-lit canal. For some lively theme park entertainment plan and least one day at Universal Studios Osaka. The Tropical FrontierMany travelers don't realize that Japan is also home to world-class beaches and subtropical wonders.

Okinawa: Rich in a unique history and "Blue Zone" longevity, Okinawa offers a pace of life unlike anywhere else in the country. It’s a perfect spot for history buffs and those looking for a soulful, coastal retreat. Diving enthusiasts will love all the many options to dive right off the shore or to visit many of the smaller island that surround Okinawa via ferry or charter.

Ishigaki: If you are looking for paradise, this is it. With its emerald waters, Kabira Bay, and incredible stargazing, Ishigaki is a premier destination for snorkeling, diving, and finding ultimate tranquility away from the urban hustle.

Why Plan With Me?

Planning a trip to Japan can be overwhelming—from navigating the rail system to securing reservations at venues and attractions, everything is done just a little differently that in the U.S. I take the stress out of the logistics so you can focus on the magic of Japan. Whether it's a Family Vacation, an Adventure trek through the mountains, or a Beach Escape in the Ryukyu Islands, I provide first-hand knowledge and a meticulous eye for detail.Let’s turn your Japan travel dreams into a perfectly paced reality.

Solo Kyoto Trip

Reviewed By H.Smith - Charleston, SC | Traveled to Kyoto | Japan | East and Southeast Asia

This was going to be my first solo trip and I wanted to make the most of my time seeing the sights without my two adorable kids and hungry husband in tow. This was to be my trip, at my (fast) pace, seeing and doing all the things that I wanted to see and do. I told Stephanie that I wanted to go to Kyoto and see some of the fall foliage, temples, unique sights, history and enjoy the cooler temps all on a budget. She found me the most adorable hotel that was both modern in its conveniences/amenities but had maintained its old world Japanese charm. It was perfect and had an amazing Spa/Onsen that was tattoo friendly and a great way to unwind and relax every night after days of lots and lots of walking. The itinerary she put together for me was just what my detail oriented self needed. She timed everything out for me, providing example directions/transportation and also provided alternate options so I could mix and match. It was the best experience I have had traveling and Japan was such a wonderful place to be as a solo female traveler.

Tokyo Disney Sea

Reviewed By Disney Fan - Okinawa, JP | Traveled to Tokyo Disneyland | Japan | East and Southeast Asia

We were short on time but wanted to make the most of a long weekend going to Tokyo. Friends had recommended going to Disney Sea while in Japan so we wanted to make the most of our time. We contacted Stephanie to help with our trip and to get recommendations on what we could realistically fit in. Stephanie gave us great advice on how to get the full experience at Disney Sea and also have plenty of time to hit some highlights in Tokyo. We had been to Tokyo before and seen quite a few of the main sites, but Stephanie set up a great itinerary of some of fun the known unique sites and experiences for us to see. She made the our quick trip easy and full of excitement without the stress of having to plan all the details ourselves.

Girls trip to Champagne Valley

Reviewed By Champagne fan - Colorado Springs, CO | Traveled to Reims | France | Europe

Stephanie planned the best farewell girls trip for my friends and I. I was living in England at the time and wanted to do a champagne trip with my girls before moving back to the states. Other than doing the driving herself, Stephanie took care of every detail. She reserved a spot on the chunnel for us round trip, hotel, an AMAZING custom champagne tour that visited the most desired big names and many smaller houses as well. I never thought I would admit it, but I don't think I could have had another glass by the end of it. The tour ended with a glass in hand overlooking the valley as the sun began to set. It was perfection! Besides the tour, she provided itinerary suggestions for each day on what to see and where to eat so that we could be flexible with our plans, but still have a plan and make the most of our time. She was very mindful of our budget and provided options for our group to discuss and agree on. She made it so easy for us.
