Midtown Manhattan
Day 1Start with the Empire State Building in the morning when it's less crowded, then walk to the New York Public Library and Bryant Park. Head to Times Square, Rockefeller Center, and St. Patrick's Cathedral. End with dinner in Hell's Kitchen and catch a Broadway show if you'd like.
Lower Manhattan & Financial District
Day 2Visit the 9/11 Memorial and Museum early, then explore the Financial District including Wall Street and the Charging Bull. Take the ferry to Staten Island for free views of the Statue of Liberty, or book tickets to actually visit Liberty and Ellis Islands. Downtown & West Village
Day 5Wander through Greenwich Village and Washington Square Park. Walk the High Line (elevated park), visit Chelsea Market for lunch, and explore the Meatpacking District. Evening in SoHo or the West Village for dinner and drinks.
Upper West Side & Harlem
Day 6Visit another museum you missed (MoMA, Guggenheim, or Natural History Museum). Explore the Upper West Side, then head to Harlem for soul food, historic sites like the Apollo Theater, and beautiful brownstones. Consider a gospel service on Sunday if it falls on this day.
Wild Card
Day 7Depending on your interests: explore the East Village and Lower East Side, visit Coney Island, see the Statue of Liberty up close if you skipped it, revisit a favorite neighborhood, shop on Fifth Avenue, or catch another show.
