Nature lovers will find plenty to explore as well. The Vosges Mountains provide hiking, cycling, and skiing opportunities, while the Rhine River offers scenic boat tours. The region’s forests and valleys are a haven for outdoor enthusiasts and those looking to reconnect with nature.
For food lovers, Alsace is a true culinary paradise. The region's cuisine blends French and German influences, offering specialties such as choucroute (sauerkraut with sausages), tarte flambée (thin crust pizza-like dish), and delicious pastries like Kougelhopf. Pair these dishes with a glass of local wine for the perfect culinary experience.

I loved traveling through Alsace. In the northeastern corner of France, Alsace is a region that beckons travelers with its blend of rich history, charming villages, and breathtaking landscapes. Bordering Germany and Switzerland, Alsace has long been a crossroads of cultures, and this unique heritage is reflected in its architecture, food, and local traditions.
The region is perhaps best known for its enchanting capital, Strasbourg, a UNESCO World Heritage city that seamlessly merges medieval and modern. The iconic Strasbourg Cathedral, with its intricate Gothic design and breathtaking views from its tower, is a must-see. But beyond the bustling streets of the city, Alsace’s true charm lies in its picturesque villages that seem straight out of a fairytale. Towns like Colmar, Riquewihr, and Eguisheim offer cobblestone streets, timber-framed houses, and flower-filled windows, making every corner perfect for a photo op.

If you’ve ever dreamed of waking up to Alpine views, strolling through cities rich in history and music, and indulging in chocolate cake as elegant as the architecture around you, then Austria should be high on your travel list. Nestled in the heart of Europe, Austria blends mountain charm with imperial grandeur, natural beauty with cultural depth. Whether you're a history lover, music enthusiast, outdoor adventurer, or simply in search of a magical escape, this country offers it all. Nestled in the rugged Alps you'll find Innsbruck. This Tyrolean gem offers the perfect mix of alpine adventure and Habsburg elegance. Start with the Golden Roof—2,600 gilded tiles shining in the Old Town—and step into the museum below to explore Tyrolean heritage. Just minutes from the city center, the Nordkette Cable Car transports you into the mountains for panoramic views, hiking trails, and mountaintop dining. In winter, it becomes a skier’s paradise. From Innsbruck, take a scenic train to Salzburg, the birthplace of Mozart and home to The Sound of Music, Salzburg is rich with culture and charm. Visit the hilltop Hohensalzburg Fortress, one of Europe’s best-preserved medieval castles, for history and sweeping views. Wander through the Mirabell Gardens—immortalized on screen—and stroll the elegant Getreidegasse, where Mozart’s Birthplace now houses a fascinating museum. The city’s Baroque architecture is breathtaking, and a cruise down the Salzach River offers a peaceful way to enjoy it all. Don’t miss the opportunity to catch the world-renowned Salzburg Festival in summer, a celebration of music, drama, and opera that draws talent and audiences from around the world.Your final stop is Vienna, Austria’s majestic capital—a city of coffeehouses, concert halls, palaces, and wide boulevards. Begin at Schönbrunn Palace, the former Habsburg summer residence, where opulent rooms and sprawling gardens transport you to a more gilded time. In the heart of the city, visit St. Stephen’s Cathedral and climb its tower for views across the rooftops. Art lovers will be drawn to the Belvedere Palace, home to Gustav Klimt’s The Kiss. Evenings can be spent enjoying a performance at the Vienna State Opera or simply sipping a Melange at a historic café like Demel or Café Central. And for a taste of local life, browse the Naschmarkt, a lively food and flea market with flavors from around the world.Getting around is effortless thanks to Austria’s excellent train system. Travel between cities is fast, scenic, and comfortable—with Innsbruck to Salzburg taking about two hours and Salzburg to Vienna just two and a half. Along the way, you'll pass storybook landscapes of alpine meadows, lakes, and charming villages. English is widely spoken, the Euro is the local currency, and both spring and fall offer ideal weather and fewer crowds. Whether you're planning a romantic escape, a cultural deep dive, or a relaxed adventure through stunning scenery, Austria promises experiences that linger long after the trip ends.If you’re ready to turn this dream into reality, I’d be delighted to help craft the perfect Austrian itinerary—from hotels and rail passes to guided tours and local gems.

We had an amazing trip. How nice it was to have so many main details taken care of for us. Amber was prompt, thorough, and very helpful! We look forward to our next trip and will definitely use her again!!
Amber was instrumental helping me and my father(90) plan, enjoy and literally survive a memorable trip to Sedona/Grand Canyon. Dad, now wheelchair bound, didnt think he could travel anymore. I said I think you can. Where would you like to go? Grand Canyon. I searched for a travel agent with both Grand Canyon and accessible travel experience and found Amber. Amber first reassured me travel with a wheelchair was absolutely possible. Amber really started to shine when we said we knew nothing about the area. She had wonderful suggestions about what to do and see. Suggested we home base in Sedona and day trip to the Canyon. She booked flights, hotel, scenic train and best of all, a private guide. This review is about Amber so Ill just say Benny made the trip and we have Amber to thank. For the planning alone Amber deserves praise but she did much more. Things did not go as planned. Dad was hospitalized in Flagstaff for 4 nights. The altitude is no joke. Ultimately he was fine. We did make it to the canyon but plans were drastically changed. Amber really came thru for us. She was able to cancel things and get almost full refunds. Changed hotels to get closer to the hospital. Changed flights to stay for an extra day. Many emails/calls with Amber to make all this happen. All of this at a time when I was scared and over a thousand miles from home. Sedona area is stunningly beautiful. I had no idea. My wife and I will certainly be talking to Amber about a return trip. Amber made the planning process easy. Was instrumental in making suggestions for what to do/how to do it. She was there for us the entire time handling logistics. She was more than just a travel agent though providing emotional support at a time I really needed it. If youre looking for a travel agent thats going to be there for you from the beginning of the planning process thru whatever crazy crap you encounter on the trip, I can whole heartedly recommend Amber.
Amber is a great listener who understands customer Service. She guided us thru a trip to remember. She answered and cover every detail. Honestly, she took everyone of my Calls and addressed every text! Ive recommended her to my network of friends as well as anyone who inquires about travel Agent. She is a Diamond in the rough! A true Professional in her field!
I performed my due diligence on all of the places I wanted to visit including events I wanted to attend. My list was comprehensive and covered the area from Sorrento to the north of Tuscany. Never driving in Italy previously I was apprehensive to undertake driving in cities and small towns in the countryside so I decided to investigate assistance from a professional with experience in my geographical areas. I searched the internet and identified Stahr Travel and worked with Amber, one of the principals. They specialize in the Amalfi Coast and Tuscany areas of Italy. Amber was totally awesome to work with...professional, knowledgeable and made numerous recommendations. Stahr Travel presented us with three Bed and Breakfast choices in each location. We made the final selection. Then they booked the reservations. In addition, they booked all of our modes of transportation...flights, trains, ferry and car service in certain locations. Next they booked the events we wanted to attend. I could not be more satisfied with their services. I HIGHLY recommend Stahr Travel for an awesome travel experience.
I recently worked with Amber to plan a Grand Canyon trip for my family, including grandparents traveling internationally, and the entire experience was absolutely outstanding from start to finish. From the very first interaction, Amber was warm, professional, and incredibly attentive to every detail. They went above and beyond to ensure that our itinerary accommodated our multigenerational group balancing adventure and relaxation perfectly. All logistics, from airport transfers and hotel arrangements to guided tours and meal recommendations, were handled seamlessly. What impressed us most was the level of care and personalization. Knowing that the grandparents were traveling from abroad, Amber took extra steps to make their journey as smooth as possible. The Grand Canyon experience itself was breathtaking, but it was the organization behind it that made it truly stress-free and memorable. Every guide, driver, and tour partner they selected was professional and passionate, adding so much depth to our experience. We cant thank Amber enough for creating such a meaningful family trip. It was the perfect blend of nature, comfort, and connection an adventure well treasure forever. Highly recommend Amber to anyone looking for a travel planner who listens, cares, and delivers perfection every step of the way!
It was a delight working with Amber. We took a 10 day trip from Phoenix to Sedona, antelope Canyon, Bryce, Zion and Las Vegas. She called, texted and emailed regarding every step of the planning process and even during the trip itself. Her suggestions for the trip were wonderful! The trip itinerary was laid out for us in a clear and concise manner. It was a life saver in being able to plan our days and take some mini excursions during our travels. I would highly recommend using Starr Travel and look forward to working with Amber again in the near future!
Amber got working on my request within minutes of my application. She clearly understands the travel industry extremely well and is a peoples person with a CAN DO attitude.
We had a wonderful time in Germany and the Netherlands. Amber, our agent was instrumental in booking the right flights - which was no easy task, and securing our lodging for us. I was overwhelmed with all of the flight options, and the need to ensure that we chose what was best for traveling such distance with a 5yo. Amber made this process so easy and put my mind at ease so I could focus on the fun part of the trip planning. I would certainly recommend Amber for your travel abroad needs.
Our trip from planning to return home was well done. Amber Stahr in Phoenix brilliantly arranged all our fun after our Knight Templar Grand C & I in Scottsdale. We hiked Montezuma Castle National monument and came across Hopi national champion hoop dancer. The Guide was a perfect fit and like-minded. he picked us up at Whispering Creek B&B; which was amazing with gorgeous views for sunsets and moon rises. We patiently toured Sedona and the next day the Grand Canyon with him his local and native wisdom was amazing. We experienced two vortexes one at the Chapel of the Holy Cross and one at the Grand Canyon. Magnificent sacred places of Native American tribes and Christians. Next day it was Kayaking the Verde River with OAC Tours encouraged togetherness and restored an active lifestyle on a beautiful river with exciting rapids. Amber arranged our rental car in Scottsdale with an early morning departure from Sedona we drove to the Phoenix Airport with so many new friends and memories capt
Amber was very communicative and easy to work with. I would recommend her. She helped us plan a trip to Switzerland including all of our train travel.
