Colorado has amazed me since my first visits as a teenager with my family in the Summer...
Colorado has amazed me since my first visits as a teenager with my family in the Summer and then again in the Winter; this amazement has continued during multiple visits in college. "Just come stay with me for a month..." is the infamous paraphrasing of my brother's invitation as I visited him in Breckenridge. Since then I have loved living in Colorado for over twenty-seven years. As I moved to our beautiful state I awoke each day with a breath of fresh Rocky Mountain air, surrounded by the gorgeous mountain peaks including the Ten Mile Range, the Gore Range, Grays and Torreys as I look over Lake Dillon.
My full-time Colorado experience began in Summit County, my adventurous mountain home, where I spent over ten years welcoming visitors to the Rocky Mountains. I made reservations and designed specialty vacations for visitors of all ages as well as for those attending destination weddings and conferences; many of these folks stayed to explore more of Colorado. I also had the pleasure of serving and leading banquets and private caterings for people from throughout the US, internationally and for locals. I have always been excited to welcome my family, friends and visitors to many locations in our beautiful state.
In Colorado I have enjoyed the local winters on the white slopes of Breckenridge, Keystone, Copper Mountain and Arapahoe Basin ski resorts where I learned to ski and snowboard in the fresh Colorado snow. These resorts are only a taste of the slopes that our state welcomes people to experience. I also found and loved snowshoeing, horse-drawn sleigh rides, ice skating on our local lakes and curling up in front of cozy fireplaces. I know others revel in snowmobile tours, ice fishing, and dog sledding.
I quickly learned that the summer is another excellent time, when I enjoy many locations in Colorado hiking and biking, town festivals and celebrations with local music, parades and tasty food. I savor dining at a diversity of local restaurants, breweries, coffee shops, and great food carts. I have fun poking around the local shops with many offerings that include local artistry. Despite not being an avid golfer I have received first-hand feedback from my husband and visitors alike regarding their love of Colorado's diverse range of excellent courses. I am proud to book tee times and welcome guests to nearby excellent mountain golf courses including The River and Keystone Ranch, The Raven, Breckenridge Golf Course and Copper Creek with the Eagle Vail and Beaver Creek Courses in Vail which are easily accessible via a beautiful drive over Vail Pass.
My local experiences include gold panning -- I haven't struck it rich yet, the excitement of white water rafting with expert guides and soaking in natural hot springs throughout the state. Local shops provide gear and advice for fly fishing, hunting and rock climbing. My family has enjoyed ATV'ing as another way to see specialized locations in the Summer-time. Colorado has an array of artistry, engaging festivals and opportunities to experience historical locations.
When I return from traveling East I am welcomed home by our open plains that rise to the Mile High City and Front Range, rolling from South of Pueblo to North of Fort Collins. I continue to explore the variety of museums, a wider range of excellent food, and university events. One of the most naturally unique, accessible, acoustically prime Colorado performance centers is the Red Rocks Amphitheater west of Denver; I always have an amazing experience as I attend musical performances and walk the Park. Seeing native wildlife and plants throughout our state offers an appreciation of our variety of local environments. Western Colorado boasts of growing the best peaches available; I have agreed for many years!
I love our beautiful Rocky Mountains, wide open spaces, unique communities, and great adventures that abound throughout Colorado. I look forward to welcoming you to visit us!

"Welcome to Australia, the Land Down Under!" is a sign I first read as I landed in...
"Welcome to Australia, the Land Down Under!" is a sign I first read as I landed in Sydney for a year of graduate studies. I had the extreme pleasure of living in Sydney, studying at the University of Sydney, known by Aussies as 'Sydney Uni.' My home was the unique International House, home-away-from-home for many international students as well as Aussies from all over the country. I loved experiencing Sydney with its "postcard" locations of Bondi Beach, Darling Harbour, the Sydney Opera House, the Sydney Harbour Bridge, and the nearby Blue Mountains National Park - just to begin my explorations, all accessible by their rail and bus systems. I always enjoyed the diversity of local communities with their own personalities under the umbrella of Sydney, as well.
When taking breaks from studies I explored many locations in this welcoming country including the cities of Melbourne, Canberra, Adelaide, and Brisbane in the Southeast. Friends and I visited Central Australia with its unique personality of wide open flat plains, varied desert landscapes and amazing rocky red landscape in its portion of the Outback. We saw the native wildlife and small towns that took care of locals and the range of visitors rolling through. I had the pleasure of hiking around Uluru and the beautiful Kings Canyon, camping with friends throughout Central Australia and filling the van with petrol at any available location.
As I traveled North to Queensland I snorkeled, kayaked a quiet bay, swam in their crystal blue waters and visited more welcoming Aussie towns. Many unique reefs including the Great Barrier Reef and communities up to Darwin are ready to be explored. After visiting Queensland I did a u-turn and headed to Tasmania, located just off the Southeast coast of the mainland. I met locals, hiked, biked, and checked out the Bass Strait coastline. My travels in Western Australia began in Perth and then continued with a fun exploration of the full Southwest corner from dry, open spaces to unique uplands to the vibrant blue coast of the Indian Ocean.
My Aussie experience included seeing unique native wildlife including kangaroos, wallabees, wombats, emus, platypus, koalas, crocodiles, goannas, and more. The diversity I saw was just a glimpse of Australia's very diverse range of flora and fauna.
In exploring museums and enjoying local events I learned more of the Aboriginal culture and history, the growth and evolution of the greater country's population and a variety of current and past cultural events. Australia is a country and culture of many layers and welcoming true smiles that I loved and began to experience.

I grew up on an ever-evolving farm in Northwest Iowa and had the pleasure of visiting family,...
I grew up on an ever-evolving farm in Northwest Iowa and had the pleasure of visiting family, friends and participating in travel adventures throughout the diverse state. All across Iowa many special town festivals and county fairs abound and welcome guests to enjoy great food, fun activities, county fair farm animals, local musicians and local history. My home was in the middle of several small towns that included LeMars, the home of Blue Bunny Ice Cream, and the beautiful Iowa Great Lakes that include Okoboji with Arnolds Park Amusement Park and Performance Center.
Iowa State University, the University of Iowa and the University of Northern Iowa are excellent locations for education, performances, activities and sporting events -- as are the variety of private colleges and trade schools. As an Iowa kid I'm very glad I chose to attend and had many life adventures at Iowa State, a land grant university known for its excellent Engineering, Agriculture & Life Sciences, Design and Veterinary Medicine colleges. My hospitality experiences began here as I served banquets to attendees of a large array of conferences, sporting events and academic gatherings.
The Iowa State Fair in Des Moines is the state's great celebration in August and a salute to our basis of agriculture, industry, entertainment and achievements. The event brings in people from around the world to see and partake in musical performance, contests, and try out odd and unique foods. It is one of the largest state fairs in the US; a great time to break out your sunscreen!
RAGBRAI (Register's Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa) is an internationally-known bicycle ride that welcomes people to explore a unique yearly route through the state. The visitors take breaks during their daily rides in small and large communities to meet locals, enjoy great food, participate in unique town events and check out the varied Iowa Summer weather. As a kid I had fun serving ice cream to our visitors as we raised funds for educational experiences. I even grabbed my bike once...for a short, local ride.
Iowa communities and counties have a range of unique events including historical celebrations such as the Pella and Orange City Tulip Festivals, cultural events, outdoor activities, state parks and music. Many visitors come to several of the larger cities such as Des Moines, Dubuque, Iowa City, Cedar Rapids, Council Bluffs, Sioux City, Davenport and explore from there.
Come visit the welcoming spirit of Iowa's open flat lands, rolling hills and unique communities that sit between the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers! Let's design your Iowa adventure!

My wife and I had the rare opportunity to take a long weekend and get out of town and with Shana's help we decided on a two-day, three-night stay at La Posada De Santa Fe. What a wonderfully relaxing and quiet place on the edge of Old Town Santa Fe. The ability to walk around on the private 6 acre walled-in property when we just wanted to relax, but just a few minutes walk to art galleries, restaurants and historical sites, was just what we were looking for; peace and quiet when we wanted it while still being outside and having easy access to interesting and fun downtown life. The staff was wonderful and the feel of the place was so warm and welcoming. The upside to it all was that the place accepted well-behaved dogs so we were able to bring our old dog with us! Thank you, Shana for the wonderful find!
We attended a family wedding in Copper Mountain in June. Shana asked many great questions and understood what we needed in the resort. We hadn't thought about many of the details she brought up. She specifically discussed the weather in June as we had no idea it was potentially still cold! We appreciate her knowledge that helped us have a special visit with our family. The kids love the swimming pool and local gold panning. I have continued to share her name and contact information with other people we know. Thank you, Shana!
We took our honeymoon to Jamaica with Shana's help. We weren't sure where to start and she reviewed several Caribbean resorts with us. She understood that we wanted an all-inclusive package and didn't want to think about any more travel plans once this trip was arranged. We stayed at the HalfMoon Bay; it was just as she described with a variety of excellent food, a spa, two great golf courses, a private beach, and special resort-only activities that we could yet didn't need to do. We loved that she had stayed there and shared her personal experiences! She also reserved our round-trip flights and shuttle from the airport. We are very thankful we chose Jamaica for our special honeymoon and HalfMoon Bay with Shana's knowledge and friendly professionalism!
Shana arranged our family vacation to Sedona, AZ for eight adults and our six grandkids over the Christmas holidays. We live in Mesa during the winter yet had never been up to Sedona. She reserved flights from three different airports and compared the prices and times; Shana also set-up two vehicle rentals. She made sure we verified with each of our families when the kids were in and out of school for the holidays. She reserved an excellent, spacious house where we could walk out the back door to a beautiful, quiet spot that was safe for the kids and was also still next to town. We inquired about activities that were important to keep our family involved; we all enjoyed several she had suggested. Thank you, Shana! We have worked with her again since that trip.
Expertly crafted itineraries, tailored around you.
