Santa Cruz Highlands
Day 2Morning: Hike through the highlands to see giant tortoises in the wild at El Chato Reserve. Explore lava tunnels. Afternoon: Visit Tortuga Bay beach - beautiful white sand beach with marine iguanas, a 2.5km walk from town. Snorkel at the bay to see white-tipped reef sharks, rays, and sea turtles.
Day Trip to Uninhabited Island
Day 3Full-day boat excursion to either: North Seymour: frigatebirds, blue-footed boobies, land iguanas, sea lions or Bartolomé: iconic Pinnacle Rock, penguins, and excellent snorkeling. Includes guided hike and snorkeling stops
Transfer to Isabela Island
Day 4Morning: 2-hour speedboat to Puerto Villamil, Isabela; Afternoon: Visit the Flamingo Lagoon and Tortoise Breeding Center. Relax on the beautiful white-sand beach. Evening: Walk along the malecón (boardwalk)
Isabela Island Exploration
Day 5Morning: Hike Sierra Negra Volcano (one of the world's largest craters) - 16km round trip. Optional add-on: Continue to Volcán Chico for dramatic lava fields. Afternoon: Snorkel at Los Túneles (lava formations) - sea turtles, sharks, rays, seahorses, and potentially penguins
2-Day/1-Night Cruise
Day 6Join a small cruise (last-minute booking or pre-arranged) visiting: Española Island (seasonal Apr-Dec): waved albatross, Hood mockingbirds, marine iguanas, sea lions; snorkel at Gardner Bay, Floreana Island: Post Office Bay, Devil's Crown snorkeling site (one of the best!), flamingos at Punta Cormorant, OR Western islands if available: Fernandina (flightless cormorants, marine iguanas) and western Isabela.
