As the first flakes of snow began to dance from the sky, my excitement soared to new heights. The destination was set – Telluride, Colorado, a picturesque haven nestled in the heart of the San Juan Mountains. The prospect of a winter wonderland and the promise of thrilling ski adventures beckoned, making it an irresistible choice for a memorable trip. The journey to Telluride itself was an adventure. Surrounded by towering peaks and winding roads, the drive to this charming mountain town was a spectacle of nature's grandeur. The anticipation heightened with each passing mile, building a sense of awe and wonder. The excitement reached its peak as the iconic box canyon, cradling the town, came into view, surrounded by majestic peaks dusted with a fresh layer of snow.Upon arrival, the cozy and welcoming atmosphere of Telluride immediately struck me. The Victorian-era architecture, coupled with the charming streets adorned with twinkling lights, created a postcard-perfect scene. The town exuded a warmth that perfectly complemented the winter chill in the air.The following days were dedicated to the exhilarating pursuit of skiing. Telluride Ski Resort, with its expansive terrain and diverse trails, offered a playground for skiers of all levels. From gentle slopes for beginners to challenging black diamonds for the seasoned experts, there was something for everyone. The panoramic vistas from the mountaintops were awe-inspiring, with snow-covered peaks stretching as far as the eye could see.The fresh powder beckoned, and I eagerly embarked on the trails, feeling the crisp mountain air against my face. The thrill of carving through the snow, the rhythmic sound of skis on the slopes, and the breathtaking scenery made each run a unique and unforgettable experience. The renowned Plunge and Revelation Bowl became personal favorites, providing an adrenaline rush and a sense of accomplishment.Off the slopes, Telluride's charm extended beyond the ski resort. The town's vibrant culture, cozy cafes, and unique boutiques provided a delightful contrast to the adrenaline-fueled days on the mountains. The historic Main Street, with its eclectic mix of shops and restaurants, offered a perfect setting for après-ski relaxation and socializing with fellow enthusiasts. One of the highlights of the trip was the free gondola ride, connecting Telluride with Mountain Village. As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting hues of pink and orange across the snow-capped peaks, the gondola glided silently through the air, offering a breathtaking journey that felt like a scene from a winter fairy tale.As the trip to Telluride came to an end, the memories of thrilling descents, breathtaking landscapes, and the warmth of a welcoming mountain town lingered. It was more than a skiing adventure; it was a rendezvous with nature's splendor and a journey into the heart of a winter paradise. Telluride had etched itself into my memory as a destination where the thrill of skiing met the charm of a mountain town, creating an experience that was nothing short of magical.

The U.S. Virgin Islands offer a diverse range of activities for tourists, including water sports, hiking, historical exploration, and cultural immersion. Whether you're seeking relaxation on pristine beaches or adventure in the outdoors, the USVI provides a unique and captivating Caribbean experience. I began my adventure in Charlotte Amalie after a short flight from North Carolina, the city is easy to navigate and has an abundance of duty free shopping opportunities. It is also a cruise port, it is fun to watch the ships come and go as smaller sailboats, yachts and catamarans glide through the channels en route to other destinations. I rented a car to experience the St Thomas beaches and mountains from every vantage point, the views did not disappoint! Please visit my photo album to see some of my favorites. I also spent several days exploring St John and Buck Island Wildlife Refuge, snorkeling and boating to experience local reefs and the world-renowned beaches that will keep me coming back for years to come. Virgin Islands promised a sun-soaked retreat into a haven of turquoise waters, pristine beaches, and lush landscapes. As our plane descended into the Cyril E. King Airport in St. Thomas, the anticipation of exploring this Caribbean jewel filled the air.Our first stop was Magens Bay Beach, a crescent-shaped stretch of powdery sand surrounded by verdant hills. The tranquil waters, framed by swaying palm trees, invited us to unwind and embrace the laid-back atmosphere that defines the Virgin Islands. Snorkeling in the crystal-clear bay revealed vibrant coral gardens and schools of tropical fish, creating an underwater spectacle.Venturing to St. John, we explored the Virgin Islands National Park, a sprawling ecological preserve covering two-thirds of the island. Traversing pristine hiking trails, we discovered hidden beaches, ancient petroglyphs, and sweeping vistas that showcased the unspoiled beauty of the Virgin Islands. Trunk Bay, with its famous underwater snorkeling trail, became a highlight, allowing us to witness the vibrant marine life beneath the surface. Our island-hopping adventure continued to the less-visited but equally enchanting St. Croix. The historic town of Christiansted, with its pastel-colored buildings and charming cobblestone streets, provided a glimpse into the Virgin Islands' colonial past. Exploring the historic sites, such as Fort Christiansvaern, transported us back in time.A sailing excursion through the Sir Francis Drake Channel offered a breathtaking perspective of the Virgin Islands' archipelago. The sea breeze carried us to hidden coves, where we anchored for snorkeling, sunbathing, and reveling in the serene beauty of the uninhabited islands.Indulging in the local cuisine became a culinary adventure, with fresh seafood, Caribbean spices, and tropical fruits gracing our plates. Dining at open-air restaurants overlooking the harbor or enjoying beachside barbecues added a delightful touch to our gastronomic journey.Exploring the Baths on Virgin Gorda, in the British Virgin Islands, revealed a geological wonder of giant granite boulders forming stunning grottos and tidal pools. The unique rock formations and the clear waters made it a surreal and picturesque destination for swimming and snorkeling. As the sun dipped below the horizon, we found ourselves on the shores of Cane Garden Bay in Tortola, the largest of the British Virgin Islands. The rhythmic beats of live music wafted through the air as we joined locals and fellow travelers in a beachfront celebration, savoring the vibrant nightlife of the islands.Leaving the Virgin Islands was a bittersweet farewell to a tropical paradise that had woven a tapestry of relaxation, exploration, and natural wonders. The memories of azure waters, pristine beaches, and the warm hospitality of the Virgin Islands lingered, creating an indelible mark on our hearts as we departed from this Caribbean sanctuary.    Living on island time was a dream come true, I can help you get there too!

Smoky Mountain Travel Agent Specialist

Nestled along the border of Tennessee and North Carolina, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park stands as a testament to the raw, untamed beauty of nature. My recent journey into the heart of these mist-shrouded peaks was nothing short of a soul-reviving escape, as the Smokies unfolded their secrets of lush landscapes, diverse wildlife, and timeless tranquility. The adventure began with a scenic drive along winding roads that meandered through dense forests and offered glimpses of the rolling mist that gives the Smoky Mountains their name. As the elevation increased, the air became crisp, and the scent of pine permeated the surroundings. Arriving at the park, I was greeted by the iconic Blue Ridge Mountains, their peaks seemingly reaching for the heavens.Hiking trails crisscross the Smoky Mountains, each offering a unique perspective on the park's natural wonders. One of the highlights was the Alum Cave Trail, a moderate trek that led me through a lush forest, across wooden bridges, and past scenic overlooks. As I ascended, the trees gave way to exposed rocks, and the reward at Alum Cave itself was a breathtaking view of the mist-covered valleys below.Clingmans Dome, the highest peak in the Smokies, provided a panoramic vista that took my breath away. The observation tower at the summit allowed me to soak in the 360-degree views of the rolling hills and valleys, with a sea of mountains extending as far as the eye could see. It was a moment of profound stillness, broken only by the rustle of leaves and the occasional call of a distant bird. The diverse ecosystems within the park are a haven for wildlife enthusiasts. From black bears and white-tailed deer to a symphony of bird songs, the Smoky Mountains are a sanctuary for a rich array of flora and fauna. Cades Cove, a verdant valley surrounded by mountains, provided a serene setting for wildlife watching. The slow drive along the loop road revealed grazing deer, wild turkeys, and the occasional glimpse of a bear ambling through the fields. In the evenings, as the sun dipped below the horizon, the smoky haze enveloped the landscape in an ethereal glow. The colors of the setting sun painted the sky with hues of orange and pink, casting a warm embrace over the mountainous terrain. The serenity of the Smoky Mountains revealed itself in the silence interrupted only by the sounds of nature, creating a meditative atmosphere that was both soothing and invigorating. The trip to the Smoky Mountains was more than a physical journey; it was a spiritual retreat into the heart of nature. As I reluctantly bid farewell to this haven of tranquility, the memories of misty peaks, vibrant forests, and timeless landscapes lingered. The Smoky Mountains had offered not just a getaway but a profound connection to the raw, untouched beauty of the natural world, leaving an indelible mark on my soul.

Easy California

Reviewed By Lori - Denver Colorado | Traveled to California | USA

Lori was very attentive to our needs and our desires for our California trip. She organized things from our flights to our hotel stays to our tours and Rent-A-Car. She supplied us with a very organized and laminated booklet to follow. She notified us a few days prior to our trip to make sure everything was good! We did have an issue at one of the hotels and we contacted her. She was right on it and found a much nicer hotel! We would use her again. She does charge a $75.00 fee to get started with the planning and it was well worth it!

Amazing NC Outerbanks (OBX) roadtrip!

Reviewed By Dean and Nellie - OBX, NC | Traveled to Outer Banks | North Carolina | USA

Visiting the NC Outerbanks (OBX) was a bucket list item for us and we reached out to Lori to help us plan this vacation as her profile indicated an expertise with the OBX. We were interested in experiencing as much of the OBX as possible in a 15 day window. Lori arranged three different destinations to stay during our trip; the first being in Duck, NC which was at the northern section of the NC OBX, the second being Beaufort, NC about halfway down the NC OBX part of the Crystal Coast, and the third being Bald Head Island, which was near the Southern most section of the NC OBX. It was a spectacular trip. In our first 5 days up in Duck, we saw the wild horses up in Corolla, visited the attractions in nearby Kittyhawk and Kill Devil Hills (such as the Wright Brothers memorial, a must see while there), Nags head with its excellent restaurants, Manteo which is connected to the Alligator River National Preserve (Saw numerous black bears up close from our car, including two mama bears each with a couple of tiny bear cubs) as well as walking around Duck with its excellent board walk along the Sound. In Beaufort, our stay included a visit two uninhabited Islands; Cape Lookout, which includes a small retail store and bathrooms with fresh water showers and has an expansive white sand beach excellent for shelling, and Shackleford banks, a completely uninhabited island except for a group of around 130 wild horses that you can experience seeing up close (no closer than 50 feet) if you are willing to hike in far enough. The third stop was Bald Head Island, which is only reachable by ferry and can only be explored by bike or golf cart. The Island was very low key and relaxing, the B&B Lori picked out was charming, the owners and staff all friendly and helpful on things to do and see while on the island. Overall a great road trip that gave us a great understanding of what the OBX has to offer.

LORI HARRIS RESPONDED

"It was my pleasure to share everything I love about the OBX!"

Easy Weekend Getaway

While visiting WNC we thought we would check out some hockey, little did we know they have a minor league team in addition to the Hurricanes. So we made a hockey weekend of it with stops in Greensboro and Raleigh! Lori mapped it out, found accommodations, and tickets to both games in under 24 hrs! We were so excited we were able to fit it in to our trip at the last minute and it was so fun! Thank you!

If you find an agent like Lori, the answer is a resounding "Yes". Lori was be able to cut through the enormous amount of information (some good, some bad, some fraudulent) that you can access with an internet search. A good agent can find what you are looking for with the added assurance that the information is reliable. Lori asked us questions to determine what we wanted, and then had the specific knowledge about where we would find such accommodations. In addition, she did this quickly and at a reasonable fee. She was even able to get us a much better price on a gorgeous Bed and Breakfast (not AIRBNB) that was not available on the establishment's website. Fall is my favorite time of year, and I wanted to see as much of the Colorado color as I could! Ms. Harris planned an unbelievable tour for me! I loved the clear, detailed itinerary I received before my trip to allow my mind to relax and not worry about the details. Ms. Harris had everything in order for my safe and happy travels. She arranged two separate 5 Star Resorts for me. First in Beaver Creek/Vail, then two nights in Mountain Village/Telluride. The Mountain Village property in particular, The Madeline, was really like nothing I had ever stayed in before. The views were spectacular, and the design of the resort was breathtaking! In the evenings there were fire bowls to light the path walking through the village, and live, smooth music filled the courtyard. There was a wide variety of food and beverage choices, including gourmet selections from their 5 Star Michelin Chef! Ms. Harris surpassed my expectations and hopes for this trip! What a whirlwind of fall beauty! Thank you!
