Carved by the Colorado River over millions of years, this immense and visually stunning canyon stretches approximately 277 miles in length, up to 18 miles in width, and attains a depth of over a mile. Its unparalleled size, intricate and colorful landscape, and geological significance make it a major tourist destination and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The Grand Canyon provides an invaluable geological record, showcasing nearly two billion years of Earth's history. The layers of rock visible in the canyon walls reveal ancient environments ranging from ocean floors to deserts, with fossils and other geological features providing insights into the planet's evolutionary history. The canyon's formation began about six million years ago with the Colorado River's gradual erosion, a process that continues today.

Visitors to the Grand Canyon can experience its majesty through various viewpoints, hiking trails, and outdoor activities. The South Rim is the most accessible and popular section, offering stunning vistas, visitor centers, and amenities, with key viewpoints including Mather Point, Yavapai Point, and the Desert View Watchtower. Famous hiking trails like the Bright Angel Trail and South Kaibab Trail allow for close-up exploration of the canyon's depths. Adventurous visitors can embark on river rafting trips along the Colorado River, experiencing the canyon from a unique vantage point. Additionally, the Skywalk, a glass-bottomed walkway extending over the canyon's edge, located on the Hualapai Indian Reservation at Grand Canyon West, offers a thrilling view of the vast chasm below.

The Grand Canyon is home to a diverse range of wildlife, including mule deer, bighorn sheep, elk, and numerous bird species like the California condor. The park's varied ecosystems support a wide array of plant life, from desert shrubs to lush forests on the canyon's rims.

The Grand Canyon holds significant cultural importance for Native American tribes such as the Havasupai, Hopi, Hualapai, Navajo, and Paiute, who have lived in and around the canyon for centuries. The canyon is rich in archaeological sites, with ancient dwellings, petroglyphs, and artifacts providing insights into the lives of its early inhabitants.

Attracting millions of visitors annually, the Grand Canyon offers a range of accommodations, from campgrounds and rustic lodges to more modern hotels. The park is managed by the National Park Service, which provides educational programs, guided tours, and visitor resources to enhance the experience.

New Orleans Travel Agent Expert

New Orleans was founded in 1718 by the French Mississippi Company under the direction of Jean-Baptiste Le Moyne de Bienville. Named after the Duke of Orleans, the city was strategically located on a crescent bend of the Mississippi River, which provided significant economic and military advantages. The city's early years were marked by challenges, including floods, fires, and conflicts with Native American tribes.

In 1763, following the French and Indian War, France ceded New Orleans and the surrounding territory to Spain. Spanish rule left a lasting impact on the city's architecture and culture. In 1800, the city briefly returned to French control before being sold to the United States in the Louisiana Purchase of 1803. This acquisition doubled the size of the United States and solidified New Orleans' importance as a port city.

Throughout the 19th century, New Orleans grew rapidly, becoming one of the largest and wealthiest cities in the United States. Its port was a critical hub for the export of cotton and other goods. The city's population was incredibly diverse, including French, Spanish, African, Caribbean, and later, Irish, German, and Italian immigrants. This multiculturalism significantly influenced the city's unique cultural landscape.

During the American Civil War, New Orleans was a major target due to its strategic importance. It was captured by Union forces in 1862, marking a turning point in the war. Reconstruction brought significant social and economic challenges, but the city continued to grow and evolve.

The 20th century saw New Orleans solidify its reputation as a cultural and musical capital, particularly with the birth and development of jazz music. The city's vibrant Mardi Gras celebrations and rich culinary traditions became internationally renowned. However, New Orleans also faced numerous challenges, including racial segregation, economic fluctuations, and natural disasters. The most devastating of these was Hurricane Katrina in 2005, which caused widespread destruction and loss of life. The city's recovery from Katrina has been a complex and ongoing process, but it has also demonstrated the resilience and spirit of its residents.

Today, New Orleans is celebrated for its rich cultural heritage, historic architecture, diverse cuisine, and lively music scene. The city's unique blend of French, Spanish, African, and American influences continues to attract visitors from around the world, making it a vibrant and dynamic place with a deeply rooted and fascinating history.

The best vacation my family has had by far because this travel agent listened to everything we needed and more. It's nice to know someone has your family's best interests at heart. We traveled to Maui for 2 weeks and that was more than enough time to sit back and have the vacation we've been wanting for years. I already told my friends at work about how great she was and that I'm going to need some time off next year to do another trip.

My girlfriend had been wanting to go to Maui for a while now so I decided to surprise her by hiring Destiny to book the trip in secret. It was so easy to work with Destiny because she only had so much time to talk to me about what my girlfriend liked and disliked and was still able to create the perfect plan for us. Thank you for everything.

Easy trip

Using Destiny to book my trip was so stress-free that I couldn't wait to take the trip to San Diego. It was my wedding anniversary and we had been talking about going to San Diego since we met. So happy we went the route of booking through an agent so we could have time to shop for clothes and things we needed leading up to the trip. She knew the best spots to visit and eat at. Highly recommend it.

Oahu was the best

Reviewed By Paulina - San Diego, California | Traveled to Oahu Island ~ Hawaii ~ USA

Going to Oahu was so much fun. My family had one thing in mind and one thing only. BEACH AND FOOD. Destiny went above and beyond to figure out the types of food my family liked and where we wanted to go. She was great and easy to talk to. Already bragging about our trip to our families and we just got back.

Easy to work with

I always had a dream to watch the sunrise at the Grand Canyon but I never had the time to plan for it. I figured if I didn't figure out a way to do it now then I would never do it. I found Destiny and thank goodness I did. Even though it was a short trip I didn't realize all of the planning that goes into stuff like that. She helped more than she knows.

Best Decision

My wife and I just had a baby but wanted to go to New Orleans for a vacation. We were scared at first since everyone was telling us it was a bad idea to take the baby but honestly, it was the best trip we ever had. She did such a good job at reassuring us that there are tons to do that are baby-friendly. I am so glad we didn't listen to everyone. We can't stop talking about it.

Crossed off the bucket list

Reviewed By Devon - Maui, Hawaii | Traveled to Hollywood ~ California ~ USA

My family and I have always wanted to do one huge trip to Disneyland and Universal Studios and knock out Hollywood while we are at it. Destiny came up with the best itinerary that worked for our family and went at our pace. She recognized that we just wanted to go with the flow so she sent us fun things on top of the amusement parks and landmarks that we could go to and places to eat. Now that we crossed off a big part of our bucket list, we are already talking about the next place to go to. Thanks again!

Great Disney Road Trip

My family wanted to do a road trip from Arizona to Disneyland and I am so happy I listened and worked with Destiny to help me plan this. Everyone had so much fun and honestly, this is the closest our family has felt in a long time. I think it's safe to say we will be going to Disneyland a little more frequently.

New Orleans Anniversary

Reviewed By Matthew - San Francisco, CA | Traveled to New Orleans ~ Louisiana ~ USA

Destiny was so nice and knew just what I needed when I told her I was planning to do a vacation in New Orleans with my wife for our anniversary. She chose the perfect hotel. It was just right away from the noise but close enough that we could walk to the French Quarter. She even booked my wife and me the best breakfast spot! There is so much to do that we told her we have to go back again next year.
