MAUI & HAWAII TRAVEL SPECIALIST: SNORKEL CRUISES, GOLF & ISLAND STAYS
I am a travel advisor who specializes in Maui vacations, and I help couples, families, golfers, and cruise guests plan an island trip that fits how they like to travel. I have stayed on Maui in a condominium, I have family who live up the highway, and I have spent time on the water. That mix of visitor and local-connected experience shapes every itinerary I build. Hawaii is my specialty, and Maui is where I begin. More Hawaiian Islands are coming soon.
Maui brings together the warmth of a beach escape and the depth of a place with its own living culture, history and community. Travelers can spend a week unwinding by the water, explore volcanic landscapes, watch the sunrise above the clouds, learn about Hawaiian history, eat their way through local food traditions or combine a resort stay with quieter time in small towns. The right plan depends on what guests want from an island: activity, relaxation, family time, romance, nature or a thoughtful introduction to Hawaii.
My favorite way to spend a day is on a snorkeling cruise. Nothing beats floating over a reef, watching sea turtles and tropical fish, then relaxing on deck. I love sharing this with clients and matching them to the right boat.
SNORKELING CRUISES I RECOMMEND
Molokini Crater: a protected crescent-shaped crater known for clear water. Operators include Trilogy Excursions and Pacific Whale Foundation.
Lanai snorkel sails: Trilogy offers sails from Maalaea to Lanai, with snorkeling near Hulopoe Bay.
Small boats vs. large boats: smaller boats mean fewer guests and a more personal feel. Larger catamarans often offer more deck space, meals, and shade. Ocean conditions change, so I help clients choose the right season, boat size, and departure time. Wildlife sightings are never guaranteed.
WHERE TO STAY ON MAUI
Wailea and Kihei (South Maui): sunny beaches, resorts, condominiums, and dining. Resorts include Grand Wailea, Andaz Maui at Wailea, Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea, Fairmont Kea Lani, and Wailea Beach Resort Marriott.
Kaanapali and Kapalua (West Maui): resorts include Hyatt Regency Maui, Sheraton Maui, Westin Maui, Montage Kapalua Bay, and The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua.
Condominiums: ideal for families who want a kitchen, laundry, and extra space.
Upcountry and Hana: quieter stays for travelers who want a slower pace. Kihei condominiums and oceanfront rentals: great for longer stays and visiting family.
GOLF ON MAUI: PUBLIC VS. PRIVATE I love to golf, so I plan golf trips with confidence.
Public courses: Kapalua Golf (Plantation and Bay Courses), Wailea Golf Club (Emerald and Gold), Kaanapali Golf Courses (Royal Course), Kahili Golf Course, Maui Nui Golf Club, Waiehu Municipal, and Pukalani Country Club.
Private: The King Kamehameha Golf Club is Maui's private club. Guest access may be limited, so I ask early. Resort stays near Wailea and Kapalua make early tee times easy. Kapalua 's Plantation Course hosts the LPGA in March I can help golfers plan around it. Course access, rates, and rules change, so I confirm details before booking.
CRUISES THAT VISIT MAUI
Norwegian Pride of America sails year-round, 7-night inter-island Hawaii cruises round trip from Honolulu and visits Maui.
Large ships from Princess, Holland America, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, and others may visit Hawaii on seasonal itineraries. Ships calling at Maui commonly use Kahului Harbor or anchor offshore.
Small-ship and expedition cruises sail Hawaii routes, with fewer guests and closer island access. Port stops are short, so I help guests pick one or two experiences, such as a snorkel cruise, Haleakala, or a scenic drive. Itineraries vary by cruise line and year, so I verify each sailing. I can also arrange pre- and post-cruise stays on Maui.
