Set on a 44-acre private island in the Baa Atoll UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, Four Seasons Landaa Giraavaru is surrounded by a 2 km lagoon and some of the best marine life in the Maldives. Located a scenic 35 min sea plane ride from Maldives Velana International Airport, each modern villa has a long pool with plenty of living indoor and outdoor space.

Dry Season

December – April

The dry season, known locally as Iruvai, runs from December through April, with April and November/December serving as transitional months. This is peak season which means that the rates are also at their highest. Calmer seas, not as much rain, and underwater visibility consistently between 25 and 40 meters make January through March the strongest all-round window for first-time visitors.

For guests at Four Seasons Landaa Giraavaru, the dry season means reliable conditions for snorkeling the house reef, excursions around Baa Atoll (to spot Manta Rays), and the seaplane transfer arriving in flat, glassy water.

Wet Season

May - November

The southwest monsoon known as Hulhangu, can bring stronger winds and heavy showers. These showers can last couple of minutes and pass leaving a clear day behind, or they can linger for many days when a storm front moves in. During this period, known as off season, resort rates that can decrease from their peak prices.

During the wet season, both manta ray and whale shark sightings in Hanifaru Bay near Four Seasons Landaa Giraavaru peak as southeast winds drive plankton into the bay. Feeding frenzies in June can involve up to 200 animals at a time!

Day 1

Seaplane Transfer and Check-In

Arrive in Male and take a 35-minute scenic seaplane overlooking the lagoons and islands from above. Check-in at the Four Seasons Landaa Giraavaru and send the day biking around and exploring the resort.

Day 2

Dive the Baa Atoll

Start the morning with a briefing at the Marine Discovery Centre with the resort's resident marine biologists, then head out with the PADI Five-Star dive centre to explore the coral thilas and reef walls of Baa Atoll.

Day 3

Dive with Manta Rays

Take a 15-minute dhoni ride to Hanifaru Bay — a UNESCO-protected keyhole lagoon where hundreds of manta rays gather to feed during the wet season. Snorkel alongside them, then return for a relaxing afternoon by the villa pool.

Day 4

Spa & Sunset Cruise

Book a morning Ayurvedic treatment at the resort's award-winning spa, AyurMa. In the evening take a sunset cruise on a traditional dhoni, often with dolphins alongside.

Day 5

Sandbank Dinner Under the Stars

Spend the day at your own pace, a snorkel on the house reef, a swim in the many resort pools, or another spa. As the sun goes down, take a private dhoni (boat) to a secluded sandbank for a bespoke dinner under the stars, just ocean and sky in every direction.

Day 6

Departure

Enjoy a slow final morning at the resort before the 35-minute seaplane back to Malé. A hard goodbye.
