Featured Itinerary

Here's a sample itinerary from one of our expert agents—personalized experiences crafted with destination expertise and insider knowledge.

Tokyo

Day 1

Arrive in Tokyo, check into your hotel, and get oriented with an easy first stroll in a nearby neighborhood like Ginza, Marunouchi, or Shinjuku. Keep the evening simple with a great first meal, a cocktail bar, and an early night to reset from travel.

Tokyo

Day 2

Start with Meiji Shrine for a calm, leafy intro to the city, then head into Harajuku and Omotesando for fashion, cafés, and people watching. Wrap the day in Shibuya for the energy, skyline views, and an easy dinner reservation in a lively area.

Tokyo

Day 3

Explore historic Tokyo in Asakusa with Senso ji, Nakamise Street, and a riverside walk if the weather is nice. Spend the afternoon in Ueno for museums and parks or Akihabara for tech and pop culture, then finish with sushi, yakitori, or a curated food tour.

Hakone

Day 4

Travel to Hakone for a change of pace, with mountain scenery, lake views, and hot springs. Ride the ropeway (and cruise on Lake Ashi if you like), visit an open-air museum, and check into a ryokan for an onsen soak and a multi-course kaiseki dinner.

Kyoto

Day 5

Take the bullet train to Kyoto and spend the day in Gion and Higashiyama, wandering preserved streets, temples, and small artisan shops. In the evening, enjoy a relaxed dinner in a traditional area and consider a private guide for deeper cultural context.

Day 6

Head to Nara in the morning for Todai ji, the Great Buddha, and Nara Park, then return to Kyoto for an afternoon reset. Close the day with Fushimi Inari later in the day for softer light and fewer crowds, or a food focused evening in Pontocho.

Day 7

Use the morning for last-minute shopping, a final temple visit, or a slow breakfast before heading to the airport. Depending on your flight, depart via Kansai International (Osaka) or return to Tokyo with enough buffer for smooth connections.
